Marketing Campaigns
Passive-Agressive Sticky Notes
To boost visibility for a digital marketing agency in 2023, I created a viral campaign built around humor and relatability.
The concept featured a series of videos showing a marketing director finding a new, passive-aggressive sticky note each morning—caught on a security camera.
As the notes criticized everything from his blog posts to his PPC ads (“Your last blog post was weaponized boredom,” and “I’ve had more meaningful conversations with my toaster”), his frustration and attempts to catch the culprit escalated hilariously.
The campaign connected with audiences by poking fun at common marketing blunders, making it shareable and memorable across social media.
Some of the most liked sticky notes said:
"I've seen tax forms with more engaging copy."
"The PPC ads you've been running are basically donations to Google's vacation fund."
"I will schedule an unnecessary root canal before I read another one of your blog posts."
"Your social media strategy is like weaponized boredom."
"The content strategy that you proposed yesterday reads like a cry for help.
"If effort were a crime you'd be totally innocent."
Unsub in the Apocalpyse
I created a campaign for a digital marketing agency set in an apocalyptic wasteland after a global disaster.
In one video, a group of people in tattered clothes huddles around a fire in a ruined city, panicking over food, water, and shelter. Suddenly, a phone notification surprises them. One character pulls out a phone, and they gasp at its glow.
As they anxiously suggest using it—like calling 911 or checking for safe zones—the owner whispers, "I just need to do one thing." He opens his email, scrolls to a marketing email, and clicks unsubscribe just before the battery dies.
